Divorce, Annulment, Dissolution: which is which? All three can end a marriage, but each does so differently. Annulment is when parties realize shortly after marrying that it was a mistake, or there was a flaw in the process. A dissolution is when both parties agree to end the marriage, and are wiling to work out a reasonable separation agreement. Divorce is used when parties cannot agree as to property distribution or child responsibilities. New is the collaborative divorce—the friendly divorce |
