James F. Lentz, Attorney and Counselor at Law

You Don’t Need to Go Downtown for Excellent Legal Representation Anymore

Juvenile Law is much more than dealing with juvenile crime.  The “Juvie” court now works on custody and visitation issues for many cases.  It also is a common court for child support and child Social Security Benefit issues.

But it still works with juvenile offenders at every level.  The juvenile traffic court is located in the court annex on Carnegie, and the misdemeanor and felony courtrooms are located in the main building on East 22nd Street.

Juvenile Law

Does my child need a lawyer?

Each case is different., but in general a lawyer should be consulted before a juvenile appears in court.  The possibility of making an error that will reflect upon the child for years is simply too great.  Juvenile Court is real court.  Judges can and do assign children to juvenile detention facilities.

This may not happen in every case, but it happens enough to treat a visit to juvenile court with the same care, concern and respect we all hold for the general Court of Common Pleas.
